November 12, 2025 — It’s the season of change, and the Napa Valley Wine Train is embracing it with the relaunch of its signature Legacy Experience, a six-hour journey that now pairs the golden age of rail travel with one of Napa Valley’s most exciting winery transformations. The immersive Legacy Experience still offers everything guests love most: a multi-course gourmet meal served aboard exquisitely restored 1915 Pullman rail cars, panoramic vineyard views along the historic rail line, private wine tastings, and the timeless romance of slow travel. Now, the journey concludes with an enhanced grand finale – an elevated tasting and culinary experience inside the newly remodeled Mercato del Gusto at the iconic V. Sattui Winery.

The reimagined Mercato del Gusto (meaning “Taste of the Market”) blends old-world Italian warmth with modern Napa Valley design, featuring wide oak plank floors, Sapele mahogany counters, a dramatic 20-foot circular wine bar, and a statement chandelier crafted from wrought iron and reclaimed wine bottles. The updated Legacy Experience now includes a fully seated tasting of V. Sattui’s award-winning, small-lot wines, paired with artisanal cheeses selected by the winery’s new in-house cheesemonger James Ayers and seasonal small plates from Michelin-starred Chef Stefano Masanti. The remodel marks V. Sattui’s 50th vintage in Napa and reflects a renewed commitment to craftsmanship, hospitality, and culinary exploration.
More than just a refreshed itinerary, the Legacy Experience relaunch strengthens the Wine Train as a cornerstone Napa Valley attraction, blending historic rail travel, legacy wineries, and the modern renaissance of Napa Valley hospitality.
