Marriott is formalizing its push into nature-based travel. It has launched a new digital platform and soft brand collection that together expand its outdoor-focused offerings.
The hotel giant is introducing the Outdoor Collection by Marriott Bonvoy, a soft brand of nature-oriented properties, such as lodges and cabins.
It’s also introducing a platform, called Marriott Bonvoy Outdoors, that lets travelers find trips categorized by labels to match common outdoor passions, such as hiking, skiing, or snorkeling. The section of its website and app pulls together more than 450 hotels, 50,000 vacation rentals, and curated experiences organized around seven activity themes.
“It’s both trying to attract a new segment of travelers… but also to capture an additional stay or experience of those who we already have in the portfolio,” Marriott chief customer officer Peggy Roe told Skift.
