Alex Honnold has found his next adventure.
The death-defying climber and star of the Oscar-winning documentary “Free Solo” will host a travel series set in his home state of Nevada.

Premiering in 2026 across the Outside network, the five-episode “Get a Little Out There With Alex Honnold” will follow the rock climber as he journeys across the Silver State in his van, embarking on bucket-list adventures. “Combining outdoor exploration, culture, and the delightfully strange roadside attractions that dot Nevada’s highways, the show offers a timely perspective on how unplugging from daily routines and venturing into unfamiliar terrain – like stargazing among 4,500 visible stars in Great Basin National Park or mining for turquoise to make jewelry in central Nevada – can alter our view of the world and ourselves,” per the logline.
Developed in partnership with Travel Nevada, the program is executive produced by David Klimek and Jeff Moore and directed by J.J. Kelley.
Honnold is best known for becoming the only person to successfully free solo El Capitan’s 3,000-foot “Freerider” route in Yosemite National Park. As captured in the documentary “Free Solo,” his climb is considered one of the greatest athletic feats of all time.
Plus, Variety broke the news last week that Honnold’s next crazy climb will be Taiwan’s Taipei 101 skyscraper. His journey up the 1,667-foot building will be filmed for a live event to premiere on Netflix in early 2026.
