CAMPING in the colder months might not be as appealing than in summer – but a glamping site is making it cosier than you might think.

In South Wales is glamping site Florence Springs, which will keep you warm with hot tubs and wood burning stoves.

Gone are the boring pop up tents – here, families can sleep in the forest with the Florence Springs’ impressive treehouse hideaways.

There are two treehouses to choose from, the bigger of the two being the Cuckoo’s Nest Treehouse, which has incredible countryside views.

Inside is a master double bedroom, a twin room, and an additional sleeping area, as well as a kitchen and dining area.

There’s a living room area which, when it gets colder, has a wood burner to keep everyone snug and warm.

You don’t have to stay inside either, outside the treehouse is a sheltered outdoor dining and kitchen area with BBQ.

There’s also a patio area with an outdoor wood-fired hot tub.

One of the best bits is when you have to get out of the treehouse: you can either take the stairs or go on the slide.

Also on offer are the Safari Tents, which are described as the “ultimate in glamping luxury” – they have electric hot tubs, indoor shower rooms, mains electricity, WiFi, and even flat-screen TVs.

There are also the yurts, which are based on traditional Mongolian design, and each comes with a private outdoor space.

There’s a covered camp kitchen with a gas ring cooker, pizza oven, campfire, stargazing bench, and firepit.

When it’s dry, kids can make use of the new outdoor play area with a climbing area and tyre swings.

That’s not all for entertainment as the glamping site is a short walk away from Heatherton World of Activities.

There are over 25 activities to choose from like  bumper boats, go karts, giant jumping pillows, archery, Kids’ Driving School and Adventure Golf.

There are also treetop trails, hedge mazes, baseball, climbing walls, and even escape rooms.

Passes are based on a credit system with 6 credits per person at £19.85.

There are individual, family, and flexible passes on offer, and if you stay at Florence Springs, then you get a 10 per cent discount.

As for where you’ll find Florence Springs, it’s 10 minutes away from the pretty town of Tenby.

Tenby was included in Rough Guide’s top 2025 destinations – it has a golden sand beach and lots of tourists travel over to Caldey Island.

A seven-night stay at the Florence Springs campsite in October works out at £455 in the Safari Tent that sleeps up to six – which is £10.83pppn.

Or a seven-night stay in the Cuckoo’s Nest Treehouse that also sleeps up to six, in October is £785 – which works out as £18.69pppn.

Plus, one Sun Writer stayed at the UK’s original glamping destination with al fresco massages and farmhouse style tents.

And the ‘secret’ English campsite with tree top glamping and only 16 pitches.
